Asdabbi Rainbow Butterfly Memories

After the first time Asdabbi and I met, I was able to call on him to meet me by thinking very hard about him. He taught me how to do it and it normally took him a day to find me, but when he did, I showed my curiosity towards him and asked as many questions as I could about his life.

Asdabbi the rainbow butterfly can remember what it was like as a caterpillar. There is one tragedy in his life that he will never forget. This was the time when the black birds attacked his brothers and sisters.

He said he was awoken to the cries of his brothers and sisters. He looked out and saw big black crows pecking at the ground and ripping up rainbow caterpillars.

He says it is the type of tragedy you have to live through to understand. I can only imagine how scary that morning must have been.

He told me how scared he was and how he couldn’t move. He mentioned later that he felt bad about not helping anyone but himself, but he was froze with fear.

This feeling was later removed when he ran into two of his brothers and one of his sisters in a butterfly sanctuary. They each travelled there after they awoke as rainbow butterflies.

Each of his siblings said they felt bad for staying as still as possible until the birds flew away. They all shared that feeling, but that feeling of fright was replaced with a feeling of excitement for the future because now they could share adventures together as a family.

I asked him what it was like to wake up as a rainbow butterfly. He told me about discovering his wings, his rainbow butterfly backpack, his manual on becoming a magical rainbow butterfly, and his copy of the Butterfly Migration Cycle (BMC) magazine.

All of these things were very important to him and all rainbow butterflies.

The first thing he noticed after he tore from his cocoon was his butterfly wings . He wasn’t even sure what they were for. As he thought about it, the rainbow butterfly backpack he was wearing became a little heavier.

He didn’t even know he was wearing a backpack until it increased in weight and made itself known. He opened it and saw a book called, “Becoming a Magical Rainbow Butterfly…for beginners.”

He opened the book to the marked page and read all about his wings. He found out what they were for and how to use them. He found out that it is a butterfly’s wings that make them different than all the other butterflies.

Then he wondered where he was suppose to go with these wings and the backpack again became heavier. He opened the backpack and put the book back in it and took out his copy of the BMC magazine that had just magically appeared in there.

Then once again the backpack became lighter like it was holding nothing at all.

Inside the magazine he found a route to follow called the butterfly migration cycle and it pointed out all of the scenic spots you would see along the route.

Following the cycle is how he met up with his brothers and sister; Alanabbi, Justinabbi, and Bisdyabbi and met many other butterflies, people, and other creatures.

I asked him what it was like to be a rainbow butterfly. He looked at me with his proboscis sticking out, which a butterfly sticks their tongue (proboscis) out when they smile and are truly happy, and gave me the best butterfly smile you can imagine.

“What’s not to like as a rainbow butterfly,” I stated and questioned all at the same time.

He explained how rainbow butterflies can learn different magic tricks from their butterfly manuals. They can cheer up anybody in need of cheering up. They can speak to any creature. They can fly the wind anywhere they want to go.

Each rainbow butterfly has a special skill that none of the other butterflies, including other rainbow butterflies, have. Some are better at planning like his brother, Alandabbi.

Some are better at picking up on vibrations from sad creatures and have more empathy than the others like his sister, Bisdyabbi.

Some are stronger and faster than others like his other brother, Justinabbi.

Some rainbow butterflies can change their color, look like other butterflies, and even camouflage into his or her surroundings.

Asdabbi said the best part about being a rainbow butterfly was that he could talk to any other creature and they could understand each other.

“Being a rainbow butterfly allows me to make life more fun and enjoyable for everyone that I meet,” I remember Asdabbi saying before we parted ways this time.

The little guy shared many stories with me about his adventures. I will tell you more about them next time.
