these girls

they bounce from one thing to the next
building momentum by feeding their flex
a team fooled by words and what they think
when it isn’t very difficult to mingle and drink
stick to one role and show your respect
you’ll win faster if you humbly suggest
still, it pops up from time to time
even when the world’s flipped and drinking more wine
my next chapter doesn’t need to connect
to feelings that destroy and tug at regret
the moral of the story is not to be confused
but look down the road past social media news
i’ve gained the glory of freedom to just be me
the best at my game, nurtured and free
one day these girls will be women who’ll learn
it doesn’t pay to tear down and let jobs burn
if you’re making a name remember the line
show support to originals and always be kind
as for me, fulfill new goals and make peace
the values i carry allow me defeat
by reaching this point with my knowledge in hand
a calm and solid future is strong in my plan
i’m better now for every obstacle i faced
my choices, my motto will flow at my pace
