The Mystery of Jimmy Hoffa

What happened to Jimmy Hoffa that faithful day when he disappeared? Jimmy was upset because he was supposed to have a meeting at 2:00 PM at the Machus Red Fox Restaurant.

Jimmy did call his wife from a payphone near the restaurant to tell her that he was stood up. Mrs. Hoffa said that Jimmy sounded nervous, which everyone knew was not like Jimmy at all when he left the house.

Jimmy stopped by the limousine service owned by a friend and an employee said that Jimmy seemed a bit nervous. What was Jimmy so nervous about that day? Jimmy was the man that became the President of the Teamsters and was not afraid to go after anything.

Jimmy Hoffa wanted back his International Brotherhood of Teamsters title of President that he lost when he was convicted of wire fraud, mail fraud, and jury tampering in 1964. The two men he was supposed to meet were mobster Anthony Provenzano and Anthony Giacalone.

Supposedly, they never showed. It was said that the mafia was not sure they wanted Jimmy back in control. They had Fitzsimmons as President now and even President Nixon liked this one.

Nixon gave Jimmy clemency in 1971. The meeting was scheduled for July 30, 1975, four years after Jimmy was released from prison. Was Jimmy putting the pressure on the mafia? Is that why he disappeared without a word?

The last person to see Jimmy Hoffa alive was a truck driver that gave a description of the car to police. The car belonged to the son of Anthony Giacalone, Joe Giacalone.

The only problem was that the driver of Joe's car was a long time friend and considered a foster son of Hoffa's, Charles O'Brien. His fingerprints were in the car. Could this man be responsible for the disappearance of a so-called foster father?

Although Charles had alibis, some could not be confirmed. Search dogs were called in and given the scent of Jimmy Hoffa. The dogs immediately when to the backseat of the car and the trunk. Could the dogs have been wrong? In 2001, twenty-six years after the disappearance, new DNA techniques allowed scientists to compare hair in the backseat and a sample from Jimmy's hairbrush for DNA. It was a match.

Everyone knows that Jimmy Hoffa was silenced, but where is he? How is it possible to hide a body forever? The killers are known, but why did they need Jimmy silenced? Did he know more about the mafia then what they felt comfortable with? Was he using what he knew to blackmail the mafia into supporting him for President of the Teamsters again?

Anyone that tries to tell the story about who killed Jimmy and what the possible motive would be, have disappeared themselves or been mysteriously murdered with no suspects.

What Jimmy knew must have been big. He could have stayed with his wife if he was smart. Where is Jimmy Hoffa? Is Jimmy Hoffa really dead or did the mafia have a different game plan for him? With nobody, no one knows for sure.
