The First Shall Be Last

Movie idols.
Sports stars.
Rock and roll superstars.

We all want to look good.
We want to be noticed.
Admired.
Valued.
Valued by the world.

But…

God has flipped the standard upside down.
He has chosen,
ㅤnot the first,
ㅤbut the last.
The despised are the winners in his book.

He sent Jesus on a mission.
“To seek and to save that which is lost.”
Not those who think they have it all together.
Not the ones who claim to be at the top of their game.

He seeks…
The lost.

He seeks those who know,
ㅤwho can admit,
They are lost.

To these he will give glory that outshines the stars.
To these he will give eternity.
We have only to admit we are lost.

Lord, without you, I am lost.
Today, I will follow you.
Lord, today, show me the way.
Your way.
