A Letter To Future Me

SELF LOVE

You are doing amazing, just keep going.

Dear Future Me,

Sitting here in this moment life is hard, it’s not what I thought it would be growing up. I have had to learn some hard lessons, and I continue to learn every day.

My wish for you, future me, is true happiness. Yes, I know, you are happy where you are now — but you’re not your true self. Over time, I hope you find her and grow to love her.

Future me, I know we will do great things. I know we try to be caring and kind to everyone. Being kind is so important in this life, I hope you give everyone grace and start with kindness.

I hope you have worked on being kind to yourself. When you wake up, your soul is the first you feel — it’s the last thing you are with at night. Your soul deserves just as much love as your children and the person you love; it’s you. I hope you are in love with yourself and show yourself the love you look for from others.

I hope you demand the respect you deserve daily. We all deserve to be respected and cared for, I am working on demanding that respect. As you know, future me, we are bullied because we are too easy, too kind. We have let others walk on us and mistreat us. I hope that you have learned to set boundaries with these friends and family members. Being kind isn’t the issue, it is our lack of boundaries.

I hope you have traveled and felt the joy of being one with nature, no matter where we end up in the world being close to nature is good for the soul. I hope you have made true friends on the journey— I know we will find people who match our energy. We have spent years wishing for true and constant friends and I will continue to have faith. As you know, it’s been hard lately keeping up with life and ourselves, let alone anyone else. I hope over time we have balanced our love and learned to make time for our friends while still loving ourselves.

I hope you are finding joy in your career, we are still having anxiety about what we could do for the next 50 years. We are so passionate about art and helping others. I hope you have pursued a career that brings you joy every day — no matter how much money it makes. I hope you have kids if you are ready, and I hope…
